As a lifelong mover, athlete, and outdoor enthusiast, Wendy Foster has been teaching group fitness and Pilates for over 20 years. Wendy's primary certification was through the PhysicalMind Institute in 1999 becoming Mat certified through Leah Putnam. She received her prenatal/postpartum specialist certification through The Center for Women's Fitness with Carolyn Anthony and has studied under a variety of Pilates teachers. She developed her own Mamalates Method for pregnant and postpartum women to offer modified Pilates sessions and classes for moms including her Essential Birth Recovery Course.

She was co-owner of Bodies in Balance Training Center (one of Portland's first Pilates studios) where she taught private sessions, specialty group classes, and certified Pilates instructors throughout the Western United States. After her son was born, she founded Studio Mamalates which created a space for parents where they could attend mom and baby Pilates and yoga classes, parenting, and childbirth workshops.
She has presented at numerous health, birth, and wellness conferences including the Oregon Health and Science University (OHSU) Women's Health Conference on the benefits of Pilates for Women. She launched her teacher training licensing program in 2014 and then Mamalates Online and offers on-demand classes and workshops for fitness and birth professionals. She lives in Portland, Oregon with her family.
