On March 11, 2020, we closed the office and the Pilates Anytime team started working from home. We had no idea what we were about to experience! It is now over 100 days later and it seems like another life when we worked in the office.
We have been incredibly busy as we've changed the business and at the same time tried our best to keep each other safe.
Our top priority is to keep everyone in the Pilates Anytime family safe from COVID-19.
We closed the office in March and in May gave our landlord notice to end our lease effective June 30, 2020. It was sad to leave the office we had used since December 2012. We do not plan to consider renting a new office until we are confident that we can work safely in close proximity. I do not know when that will be, but I do not expect it to be during 2020.
We closed the filming studio at the same time as the office. We immediately started filming and streaming live classes from the homes and studios of the teachers we normally work with. It has been an exciting and challenging project. The only person at the filming location is the teacher, so there is nobody on-site to help with the technology. Our goal is to minimize the risk to our employees and the teachers of catching COVID-19. Check out the amazing live classes we are producing or watch the same class anytime you like.
We have been closely following the advice from various government authorities on how to operate a filming studio safely. Last week, we very cautiously filmed for the first time in the studio. We limited the number of people in the studio (which is about 2,000 square feet) to 3 people, only filmed for 60 minutes, and left the doors and windows open to maximize air circulation. The three people all live close to the studio and were able to drive. You will be able to see the class on our website soon.
Today, as I read the news about the increase in COVID-19 infections in California, I am more concerned than I was two weeks ago. I have decided that for the foreseeable future we will continue to live-stream classes from the homes of our teachers and will not be using the filming studio.
I send a huge thank you to everyone who has supported us during the pandemic and if you have ideas about how we can better serve you please let us know.
Please stay healthy.
John
